Locations outside the park that have been proposed for a lido, for example a brownfield site in Fishponds or the old Bingo hall (shown on the map), would be prohibitively expensive for a community project, commanding property developer prices. Also a brownfield site would lack the versatility and attractiveness of a park-based lido located near to other park facilities. An in-park site gifted by the Council is how it can be both financially feasible and most valuable for the community.
